About Memento
Memento is a privacy-first workspace for your thoughts, credentials, and ideas. We believe your data belongs to you — not advertisers, not data brokers, not even us.
Our Mission
We're building the workspace we always wanted — one where end-to-end encryption isn't an afterthought, where your notes are truly private, and where powerful features don't come at the cost of your privacy. Memento combines a rich Markdown editor, an encrypted vault, and smart link management into a single, cohesive platform.
What We Stand For
Privacy First
Zero-knowledge encryption: we can't read your notes, vault entries, prompts or attachments. Titles, tags and links aren't encrypted. See Security.
Security by Design
XChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption, end-to-end encrypted sync, and device-level key management.
Performance
Offline-first with instant local access. Your data is always available.
User Owned
Your data, your keys, your choice. Export everything anytime.
Open Development
Transparent about our practices, honest about our limitations.
Accessible
Built for everyone — keyboard navigation, screen readers, and responsive design.
What Memento is
- Notes: a block editor with Markdown shortcuts, code in 37 languages, LaTeX, tables, templates and wiki-style links
- Vault: passwords, cards, identities and secure notes, with each field value encrypted
- Links: a bookmark library with automatic previews, collections and browser-bookmark import
- Prompts: a library for the prompts you use with AI tools, with template variables
All four sync in real time across your browsers, work offline, and can be exported at any time.
